LONGVIEW, WA – Authorities are intensifying their search for a man with a documented history of extreme violence, who is the prime suspect in a recent homicide and attempted murder. Alexander Lee Rogers, 51, is wanted in connection with a brutal stabbing that occurred in Longview and is considered by police to be armed and highly dangerous.

Rogers is being sought for the murder of Dawn Peters, 64, and the attempted murder of her brother in-law, Andrew Peters, 73. The attack reportedly involved a fatal stabbing that took place on or around August 5, 2025, at a home on Terumi Lane (KGW News). Andrew Peters, who suffered critical injuries, was airlifted to a hospital but is now reported to be in stable condition and recovering. Police have indicated that Rogers knew the victims, who were in-laws.

A nationwide arrest warrant with extradition has been issued for Rogers. Authorities have released a description of the suspect, a white male, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing approximately 190 pounds. He is believed to be in the Clark or Cowlitz county areas and may be driving a partially spray-painted black BMW, possibly with Washington license plate BNU8712. Police have also released bodycam images of Rogers from an unrelated interaction on the morning of the stabbing.

Rogers’ criminal record reveals a disturbing pattern of violent behavior. In August 2002, he was convicted of multiple felonies stemming from a particularly vicious assault. Court records indicate that on August 14, 2002, he attacked two individuals with a machete, inflicting serious injuries, and subsequently stole their car. For these crimes—first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault—Rogers pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 288 months in prison (KGW News).

After serving more than two decades behind bars, Rogers was released just 10 months ago, before allegedly committing the recent crimes in Longview (KGW News). Longview Police Department Captain Brandon McNew stated, "It's really important for us that the public knows this guy is dangerous. He's shown a propensity for violence. We believe he's likely to commit violence again" (KGW News).
