LONGVIEW, WA - The search for the suspect in a fatal stabbing that occurred this week continues, with Longview police warning the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. The incident, which left one person dead and another critically injured, has led to a nationwide manhunt.

According to reports from KGW.com and KOIN.com, the victims have been identified as 64-year-old Dawn Peters, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and her 73-year-old in-law, Andrew Peters. Andrew was initially airlifted to a hospital with critical injuries but has since been listed in stable condition and is recovering.

The suspect, Alexander Lee Rogers, 51, is still at large, and police have issued a nationwide extradition warrant for his arrest. Authorities believe Rogers may be in the Cowlitz or Clark County areas.

Adding to the urgency of the search is Rogers' past. He was released from prison just 10 months ago after serving a sentence for a 2002 attack in which he used a machete to assault two people. Longview police have stated that Rogers is a clear danger to the public and that he is likely to engage in further acts of violence.

The Longview Police Department is urging anyone with information on Rogers' whereabouts to contact them immediately.
